Joining the server

Using GeyserMC, Java servers can now be joined using Bedrock Edition clients.

The way to join can differ slightly depending on the platform you are using.

Mobile and Windows

On any version previously known under the names 'Pocket Edition' or 'Wndows X edition', joining servers requires only a few simple steps.

  1. Click on Play
  2. Go the the Servers tab
  3. Click on Add Server at the bottom of the list
  4. Fill in the Server Name "Helix Survival" and the Server Address "hexasis.eu"
  5. Click on Save
  6. Click on the server you just added.

Consoles (Xbox, Playstation, Switch)

Consoles do require a bit more setup to be able to join servers. This can be done by either using the 'BedrockTogether' app or by configuring a custom DNS server.

Using the BedrockTogether app

To start of, you need a mobile device (Android or iOS) on the same network as your console.

On your mobile device

  1. Install the BedrockTogether (Android) or BedrockTogether (iOS) App.
  2. Open the app
  3. Enter "hexasis.eu" into the IP field.
  4. Click on Run

On your console

  1. Click on Play
  2. Go to the Friends tab
  3. Click on the LAN game named 'BedrockTogether'

Using a custom DNS server

While this option is more advanced, it only has to be done a single time.

Configure Xbox

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to the Network Category
  3. Click on Network Settings
  4. Click on Advanced Settings
  5. Click on DNS Settings
  6. Set DNS Settings to 'Manual'
  7. Set Primary DNS to '104.238.130.180'
  8. Set Secondary DNS to '1.1.1.1'
  9. Exit the menu

Configure Playstation 4

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to the Network Category
  3. Click on Set Up Internet Connection
  4. Click on your connection method (Wi-Fi or cable)
  5. Set IP Address Settings to 'Automatic'
  6. Set DHCP Host Name to 'Do Not Specify'
  7. Set Primary DNS to '104.238.130.180'
  8. Set Secondary DNS to '1.1.1.1'
  9. Exit the menu

Configure Playstation 5

  1. Open Settings
  2. Go to the Network Category
  3. Click on Connect to the Internet
  4. Click on Advanced Settings
  5. Set DNS Settings to 'Manual'
  6. Set Primary DNS to '104.238.130.180'
  7. Set Secondary DNS to '1.1.1.1'
  8. Exit the menu

Configure Switch

  1. Open System Settings
  2. Go to the Internet category
  3. Click on the network you are currently connected to
  4. Click on Change Settings
  5. Set DNS Settings to 'Manual'
  6. Set Primary DNS to '104.238.130.180'
  7. Set Secondary DNS to '001.001.001.001'
  8. Click on Save

In game

  1. Click on Play
  2. Go the the Servers tab
  3. Join any server in the list
  4. Click on Connect to a Server
  5. Fill in the Server Address "hexasis.eu"
  6. Click on Submit
